Nawaz Sharif, Maryam wrap up UK tour

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Saturday wrapping up their UK tour have taken a flight back home.

Nawaz Sharif had left for UK and US tour on October 26. He then had gone to Geneva to spend time with his family.

Maryam Nawaz had also left for Geneva earlier this month for medical treatment.

Talking briefly to reporters at London airport, Nawaz Sharif said those who are seeking to launch a protest movement will not succeed in their plans. He said Pakistan is on the road of prosperity and we have overcome many challenges.

“PTI did nothing except bringing disrepute to Pakistan,” he said.

“We have suffered worst atrocities and victimization,” he added.

Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar and their family physician Dr Adnan are also en-route back to Pakistan.
