No deal on offer? Gandapur awaits free judiciary to get Imran out

ISLAMABAD: It seems all the talk about a possible deal and the resultant release of PTI Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan is nothing but rumours, as Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday intentionally or unintentionally negated the claims.

“We are waiting for the independence of judiciary,” Gandapur told a reporter, when he was asked how and when they would get Imran out of the prison.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, however, claimed that the cases against Imran had no substance and the courts would acquit whenever the cases were heard.

Past few weeks have yet against witnessed “sources-based reports” and “analysis” by journalists and analysts – including the top ones – that the establishment was desperate to reach a settlement with the incarcerated PTI founder.

One of the senior journalist had even claimed that the powerful circles had briefed Imran in Adiala jail amid the Indian aggression.

In this context, the PTI social media team and their supporters have been predicting their leader would be out of the prison within weeks, if not days.

A columnist, who has been very close to Imran, had even “announced” that the PTI founder would celebrate Eid at home.

Meanwhile, one must not forget that the PTI supporters are in habit of start building an impression after a short break regularly about the imminent release of their leader.

PROTEST CALL

Interestingly, Imran has already given a call for countrywide protest, which he will lead from the prison. It should have been enough to understand that all the deal claims are just a deception or desire.

How can a person close to reaching an understanding go for a protest call?

In other words, one can safely assume that no one has offered any deal to Imran.
