ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad has granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold protest in Islamabad on August 22. Earlier, PTI was allowed to protest in the federal capital after August 20.
The cases in Islamabad High Court (IHC) filed by PTI for contempt of court against district administration and for not allowing to hold protest will now likely be nullified.
PTI protest permission case: IHC questions State Council on delay
IHC Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz had reserved the verdict on the permission case last week. PTI had postponed its Friday’s sit-in in response to the court’s decision.
The contempt of court case was heard today by IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, and the court reserved the verdict on that too. Now both of these cases, will likely be discharged, sources say.
