ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued show cause notices to four of its members for reportedly breaching party discipline concerning the recent constitutional amendments saga.
The show-cause notice was issued to National Assembly (NA) members: Zain Qureshi, Aslam Ghumman, Muqdad Ali Khan and Riyaz Fatima.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
The notification questions the actions of its mentioned leaders, specifically asking “why has communication been deliberately severed?”
The party mandated that the four members provide a response to the show-cause notice within seven days. It warned that failure to do so could result in expulsion from the party.
The PTI’s notice raised alarms about the government’s proposed amendments that recently passed into a bill. PTI, as Opposition in the lower parliament, has long argued that the bill threatens judicial independence.
The notice instructed all PTI members, including MNAs and Senators, should remain in designated ‘safe locations’ and strictly follow party directions.
In a related statement, Zain Qureshi disclosed that he went into hiding on the advice of is father, Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
In a video message, Zain Qureshi stated that he was instructed to avoid any association with the contentious amendments. Qureshi also denied any intention to vote in favour of the amendments, describing reports suggesting otherwise as “false propaganda”.
The PTI member said that his father had called him to Lahore, where he was currently detained in connection with a separate legal issue.
