Sanam Javed’s fate hangs between two courts; 35 MNAs declare allegiance to PTI


PTI cancels rally

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed in personal capacity at 5 o’clock. The court has also barred Javed from being taken outside the limits of Islamabad.

Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Director General has also been summoned by the court. The hearing in concern pertains to the release of Javed. Yesterday, the Duty Magistrate had ruled Javed’s arrest illegal. FIA appealed against that verdict questioning the authority of the judicial magistrate.

Sanam Javed handed over to Balochistan police, father files appeal

Earlier today, Javed was prepped to be handed over to Balochistan police. However, after her father’s appeal filed in IHC, now the high court has summoned Javed along with other parties concerned at 5 PM.

RESERVED SEATS VERDICT

Meanwhile, following the Supreme Court’s decision to allot reserved seats to the PTI, as many as 35 party members of the National Assembly (MNAs) have so far submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) their affidavits of allegiance to the party.

Sources told that the party’s nine members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) from Sindh and over 100 MPAs from Punjab too had submitted their affidavits.

Sher Afzal Marwat’s non-bailable arrest warrant issued

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub Khan and Ali Asghar were yet to submit their affidavits. On the other hand, 92 PTI MPAs in the KP Assembly have so far signed their affidavits.
