Sirajul Haq considers wheel-jam strike amid soaring electricity prices

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Sirajul Haq has emphasised the importance of national unity to achieve better outcomes in the face of ongoing concerns over electricity prices.

In a media address, the JI chief stated that if electricity prices are not reduced he will consider Islamabad long march and nationwide wheel-jam strike.

He further elaborated that the second phase of the protest movement would involve sit-ins staged in front of Governor Houses across the nation.

He also urged the government to tackle electricity theft, which costs billions, and deal with line losses. Additionally, he pressed an end to the practice of government elites from getting free electricity worth billions of rupees.
