ISLAMABAD: A recent meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political committee was marked by a heated confrontation between senior party leaders Asad Qaiser and Shibli Faraz over the expulsion of Sher Afzal Marwat.

The altercation began when Asad Qaiser criticised the decision to remove Marwat from the committee, calling it an abuse of party principles. Qaiser expressed his discontent, stating that the expulsion was a misuse of the committee’s authority and detrimental to the party’s integrity.
In response, Shibli Faraz retorted sharply, questioning Qaiser’s authority to challenge party policies.
“Who are you to speak on party policy issues?” Faraz said, adding, “It has been a few years since you joined the party, while I have been with PTI’s founder Imran Khan since 1995”.
The exchange escalated as Qaiser reiterated his stance, condemning the manner in which the committee acted against Marwat. Despite Faraz offering an apology, the confrontation led to Qaiser abruptly leaving the meeting in protest.
