Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan returns to Kabul after four years

KABUL: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) officials announced the return of renowned national cricketer Rashid Khan to Kabul after four years. Photos of Khan’s arrival were shared on the board’s Facebook page, marking his long-awaited return.

Rashid Khan had been unable to visit Afghanistan due to his busy schedule, which included participation in various commercial cricket tournaments. Upon his return, he received a warm welcome from ACB officials and fellow cricketers.

Khan, who recently played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Gujarat Titans, returned to Kabul after his team was eliminated from the competition. He is also a prominent player in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars.

His upcoming plans include traveling to the West Indies for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

As the captain of Afghanistan’s T20 team, Rashid Khan will lead his squad in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place in the United States and the West Indies.
