MULTAN: Pakistan began to lose the plot in the first session on Wednesday of the second test against England, losing Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, and Sajid Khan in quick succession.
Rizwan was the first to leave the field on Wednesday, being dismissed after making 41 runs off 97 balls, hitting five fours in the process.
A delivery from Brydon Carse in the 93rd over nicked Rizwans bat before England wicketkeeper Jamie Smith took a brilliant leaping catch. It was Carse’s second wicket of the game, dismissing Saud Shakeel in the 61st over on Tuesday.
Agha was the next to be dismissed in similar fashion. This time it was Matthew Potts who found the edge of Agha’s bat, before Smith took another great catch. Agha was dismissed after making 31 runs off 53 deliveries.
Khan was the third to be dismissed, only scoring two runs off nine deliveries. Joe Root took the catch on Jack Leach’s delivery.
Aamer Jamal and Noman Ali are now batting for Pakistan.
The England bowlers have been sharing the glory, with Potts and Carse each taking 2 wicket and Jack Leach leading the team with three. Shoaib Bashir has also taken a wicket. England skipper Ben Stokes is yet to strike.
Pakistan currently stand at 309 for 8 after 104 overs.
