Bangladesh cricket team touches down in Lahore for test series

LAHORE: The Bangladesh cricket team has touched down at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport ahead of their Test series against Pakistan in early hours of Tuesday.
After their arrival, the players were transported under heavy security to a private hotel where they will rest.

The team is scheduled to begin their training at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. They will undergo three days of practice before traveling to Islamabad on August 17.
The series consist of two tests: the first match will start on August 21 in Rawalpindi, and the second will commence on August 30 in Karachi.
Cricketer and politican Shakib Al Hasan is part of the Bangladesh squad. Hasan is a member of the Bangladesh Awami League and a member of Bangladeshi parliament,
Shakib Al Hasan was part of 2024 Global T20 Canada league while his country was going through political turmoil. He joined his team in Pakistan directly from Canada.

Initially, the Bangladesh team was set to arrive in Islamabad on August 17. Given the situation in Dhaka, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to expedite their arrival for early practice.
The BCB agreed, allowing the team to start their training in Lahore ahead of schedule.
