Bangladesh defeat Netherlands to seal T20I series

Chasing a modest target of 104 set by the Dutch, Bangladesh completed the chase comfortably. The Tigers finished on 104 for 1 in 13.1 overs.

The Netherlands struggled to build momentum batting first on a slow and turning pitch. They managed just 103 for 6 in 17.3 overs.

Bangladesh’s bowlers exerted huge pressure on the Dutch, with off-spinner Nasum Ahmed taking three wickets while yielding 21 runs in his four overs.

Pace bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets apiece. This helped keep the Dutch middle order from recovering.

Aryan Dutt’s 30 off 24 balls was among the few positives for the visitors in a generally disappointing innings.

In response, Bangladesh’s batting got off to a positive start with Parvez Hossain Emon scoring 23 runs from 21 balls before being caught behind off Kyle Klein’s bowling.

However, Tanzid Hasan and captain Litton Das’s partnership ensured a steady target chase.

Hasan was the architect of the victory, scoring a half-century off 39 balls.

Speaking after the match, captain Litton Das praised the team’s preparation and unity. He singled out Nasum Ahmed’s performance as critical for the win.

Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards acknowledged the challenges his team faced to adapt to the slow pitch and admitted that defending a low total was always difficult without early wickets.

He expressed disappointment in the team’s overall performance but believes they can bounce back in the final game of the series.
