LAS VEGAS: John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41, night two, in what many fans considered to be a lacklustre ending.
Rhodes seemed to be on the cusp of victory after he landed his signature cross Rhodes on Cena. But, before the official could count to three, Travis Scott interfered pulling the official out of the ring. The infuriated WWE champion would taunt Scott to enter the ring. Scott did, and suffered a cross Rhodes soon after.
However, Scott did enough to distract Rhodes, as Cena would then attack the champion with the championship belt. Rhodes reacted in the nick of time, latching on to the belt before slammed into his face. Cena and Rhodes would struggle over the title, with the latter able to pull it away. With the title now in his hands, Rhodes had the opportunity to turn the tables while the official was still out of the ring.
But, Cena began to cower and beg. Rhodes hesitated long enough for Cena to kick him in the groin, which is the same shot that started the whole fued back in the beginning of March. Rhodes would struggle to get back to his feet, and just as he did, Cena would strike him with the belt. Cena then called in the referee, pinned Rhodes and became a 17-time champion.
Cena became a 17-time world champion, much to the discontent of the WWE universe. Fans across social media complained about what they felt was a lacklustre ending.

“I’m not mad Cena won. I’m mad that it ended with Travis Scott and a belt shot,” wrote one user on Reddit.
Others were disappointed that the Rock, who was an integral part of the storyline thus far and was present when Cena turned heel, didn’t make an appearance.
“The Rock not showing up is ridiculous. Shouldn’t have been part of the story if that was the case,” complained another user on reddit.
Some focused on Travis Scott’s inclusion in the match.
“The match actually started getting pretty interesting, then everything went to crap when Travis Scott arrived.”
Cena’s storyline is far from over it seems, with the now champion sending a message to the WWE universe at the post show press conference.
“Tune in Monday night raw to see how I ruin wrestling. And keep in mind, you are now talking to the last real champion.”
Fans will now have to wait and see how this storyline develops, as Rhodes attempts to win the championship back in the remainder of the year, and Cena puts the finishing touches on a hall of fame career.
