Alice Capsey’s batting laid the groundwork for England’s target as she notched up her ODI career-best score of 44.

However, other batters in England’s batting lineup did not perform as well. Amy Jones, Tammy Beaumont, and Nat Sciver-Brunt all contributed but struggled to capitalise on the blazing start the openers set.

In response, Pakistani batters tried to put up a strong front but faltered under the pressure exerted by England’s bowling attack. Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean wreaked havoc, claiming five wickets between them to dismantle Pakistan’s batting order.

Sophie Ecclestone in patriarchal displayed her bowling prowess once again as she claimed three wickets. She was later named player of the match for her bowling figures of 3-26. The English bowler stated she was satisfied with her performance but that it took her team’s collective effort in winning.

Despite a steady start, Pakistan found themselves struggling against the English bowlers and ultimately fell short of the target. Muneeba Ali managed to 34, however it wasn’t enough to steer Pakistan to victory.

Captain Heather Knight acknowledged the team’s performance could have been better but shrugged off today’s match, stating they had “gotten the job done.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s captain Nida Dar stated she was concerned over her team’s batting performance. She conceded that the Pakistani batters needed to focus on better partnerships and consistency.

Dar said she was also disappointed with her team’s inability to finish games and outlined plans to address their batting woes.

Despite the loss, Dar remained optimistic about her team’s strengths in bowling. She commended her team’s bowling effort in restricting England to a manageable total.
