Gary Kirsten joins Pakistan team as England T20I series looms

ISLAMABAD: Gary Kirsten, the distinguished former South African cricketer, has joined Pakistan’s squad in Leeds ahead of their T20I series against England.

Welcomed by team management and captain Babar Azam, Kirsten received the team’s training jersey from senior manager Wahab Riaz.

Kirsten, now the head coach of Pakistan’s white-ball squad, is set to oversee the team’s practice sessions starting from Monday. These sessions will span from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a final practice slated for Tuesday afternoon.

The four-match T20I series kicks off at Headingley on May 22. Following this series, Pakistan will head to the United States for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, beginning their campaign against co-host USA on June 4, and facing arch-rivals India on June 9.
