ISLAMABAD: Veteran New Zealand batter Grant Bradburn announced retirement from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the team’s high-performance coach on Monday, saying he is grateful to have worked with the Green Shirts and coaches.

Bradburn was initially appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the head coach of the national men’s side for the next two years in May last year.

However, the cricket body in November 2023 changed the portfolio of the entire coaching staff including head coach Bradburn.

“All coaches will continue to work in National Cricket Academy while PCB will announce the new coaching staff in due course for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand,” PCB had stated.

The 57-year-old had coached the Pakistan team during the World Cup 2023.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Bradburn announced his retirement as the coach.

The Kiwi has joined an English county by parting ways with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Grant Bradburn took to X, former Twitter, to thank people for supporting him while working with the PCB.

Bradburn was appointed Pakistan men’s cricket team head coach on May 13, 2023.

Grant Bradburn was an off-spinner with Northern Districts who played seven Tests and 11 ODIs for New Zealand in the 1990s and 2000s before becoming a coach.

He has worked in various roles with Pakistan, eventually becoming the national team’s head coach including at last year’s World Cup, and has also been head coach of Scotland, including when they pulled off a famous win over England in Edinburgh in 2018.
