ICC conduct Champions Trophy inspection at Gadaffi Stadium

LAHORE: The third and final inspection by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the Champions Trophy was conducted on Saturday as the delegation visited Gadaffi Stadium.

The ICC delegation reviewed the arrangements made for the Champions cup. They inspected the ongoing development work being conducted on the stadium after being briefed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials.

The delegation was also briefed on the security measures by PCB officials

PCB officials showed the stadiums surroundings including training venues. On Friday, the delegation also met with local hotel management.

They also visited the Safe Cities Authority.

Previously the ICC delegation visited both Rawalpindi Stadium and National Stadium in Karachi. The delegation will complete their report upon returning to London, however they have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.

Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the ICC delegation was pleased with the security arrangements observed in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

He reassured stakeholders that world-class preparations are underway for the ICC Champions Trophy, with all stadium upgrades set for completion in advance of the event.

The team, including senior manager of events Sarah Edgar, event lead Aun Muhammad Zaidi, general manager of cricket Wasim Khan, security manager David Musker, and broadcast consultant Mansoor Manj, visited key venues and discussed plans with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

They were updated on stadium upgrades, security measures, and facilities for fans.
