LAHORE: The head coach of Pakistan’s white-ball team resigned on Monday according to sources.
The resignation comes after disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) according to sources. PCB has yet to provide comment on the matter. The disagreement allegedly concerns the upcoming series against Australia, as Kirsten’s suggestions on the squad were not taken into account when announcing the teams.
Sources have also stated that the PCB’s refusal to appoint David Reid as high performance coach is also linked to Kirsten’s departure.
Test coach Jason Gillespie is being considered to take over. Aaqib Javed, a current selector, is also being eyed for the position.
Kirsten had just joined the team recently in May of 2024.
