Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad rematch at UFC 304

MANCHESTER: The highly anticipated rematch between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad will headline UFC 304 in Manchester, United Kingdom (UK).

The first fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad took place in March 2021 and ended in a “no contest” due to an accidental eye poke by Edwards.

Since then, both fighters have continued to make significant strides in their careers. Edwards, the reigning UFC welterweight champion, has won four consecutive fights. His most notable victories include a win over Kamaru Usman to claim the title in 2022, followed by successful defenses against Usman and Colby Covington.

Muhammad, on the other hand, enters the rematch with an impressive five-fight win streak. His recent victories include a triumph over Gilbert Burns in May 2023. As the number two ranked fighter in the welterweight division, Muhammad will capitalise on this opportunity to secure a title and avenge his previous encounter with Edwards.

Tom Aspinall vs Curtis Blaydes

In the co-main event, Tom Aspinall will defend his interim heavyweight championship belt against Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall’s interim title was secured with a knockout win over Sergei Pavlovich in November 2023.

The fight is a rematch from 2022 when an early knee injury led to a quick stoppage, favoring Blaydes in their initial bout. Blaydes, ranked number four in the heavyweight division, last fought in March 2024, securing a knockout victory over Jailton Almeida.

The UFC 304 main card will also feature other bouts, including a featherweight clash between Arnold Allen and Giga Chikadze. Allen is seeking to rebound from two recent losses against Chikadze, who has also faced setbacks in his career. This fight is important for Allen as he needs a win to maintain his position as a top contender.

The lightweight division will see Bobby “King” Green face off against Paddy Pimblett. Green is ranked number 15 and recently won against Jim Miller. Meanwhile, Pimblett is looking to extend his undefeated streak in the UFC, following his win over Tony Ferguson.
