Mother’s joy: Arshad Nadeem to be welcomed with flowers

WEB DESK: The mother of Pakistan gold medalist Arshad Nadeem announced her plan to welcome her son with flowers following his historic achievement at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
Arshad Nadeem secured Pakistan’s first gold medal in athletics in 40 years. He also set an Olympic record in men’s javelin throw with a throw of 92.97 metres.

In a heartfelt interview, Arshad Nadeem mother shared her elation, saying, “I prayed a lot for my son’s success, and now I will welcome him with flowers.” The Olympia’s mother said that while the entire nation has supported and prayed for her son’s victory, her personal happiness surpasses even that of the country.
Meanwhile, Nadeem’s sister struggled to express her joy, stating she was so thrilled she could hardly find words to describe it.
During the javelin throw final, hundreds gathered outside Nadeem’s home to support him. The local community praised Nadeem for bringing global recognition to Mian Chanu, his hometown.
In the javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics, Arshad Nadeem’s performance not only secured the gold medal but also edged out competitors such as India’s Neeraj Chopra, who won silver.
Nadeem’s winning throw occurred during his second attempt in the final, setting a record that was unreachable for the other athletes.

Nadeem’s achievement marks Pakistan’s first gold medal in athletics and its first Olympic gold in 40 years. The win also ended a 32-year medal drought for the country.
