In response, Zimbabwe fell short, managing 176 runs before being bowled out with just one ball remaining in the match. The hosts struggled to mount any real resistance, missing the chance to whitewash their rivals.

The standout performer for Zimbabwe was Sean Williams, who played a fighting knock of 77 runs. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to make a significant impact.

The turning point of the match came through an exceptional performance by JJ Smit, who dismissed four Zimbabwean batters alone, marking him the best performer of the game.
