Rachin Ravindra gets hit on face

LAHORE: New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra suffered a terrible injury during the tri-series opening match against Pakistan on Saturday.

The Kiwi player was hit on the forehead by a shot from Pakistan’s Khushdil Shah while attempting to catch the ball.

Rachin Ravindra walked off the field with the support staff as the Pakistani batters at the crease inquired about his condition.

Rachin Ravindra is undergoing medical assessment for evaluation of his injury.

Pakistan struggle as wickets fall quickly

Meanwhile, Pakistan have scored 225 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 44 overs.

They lost first wicket at 57 runs when skipper Babar Azam was dismissed for just 10 runs.

The team’s second wicket fell at 103 runs, with Kamran Ghulam scoring 18 runs. 

Captain Mohammad Rizwan was out for 3 runs, bringing the third wicket loss at 117.

Fakhar Zaman provided some resistance, scoring 84 runs before getting out at 119. 

The wickets kept falling as Tayyab Tahir departed at 172 after scoring 30 runs.

Khushdil Shah managed only 15 runs before being dismissed at 205, and Salman Agha followed suit without adding a single run, scoring 40 in total.
