Pakistan all out for 366 in first innings of second test

MULTAN: Pakistan’s first innings would come to an end in the second session of the second day of the second test match after making 366 runs. Noman Ali and Aamer Jamal would provide Pakistan their last significant partnership of the innings.

Aamer Jamal’s innings would come to a close on the first ball after the break, giving Brydon Carse his third wicket, as the all rounder was castled with a full length delivery that splayed the stumps. He was dismissed after making 37 runs off 69 delivers, hitting four fours in the process.

Ali would be sent off after scoring 32 runs off 61 balls, hitting five fours of his own in the process. Together with Jamal, the two did their best to put some runs on the board, providing a much needed partnership of 49 runs off 80 deliveries.

Jack Leach would pick up his fourth wicket on a delivery that Ali struck high up, making for an easy catch for Carse.

Pakistan would be all out for 366 in the 124th over.

RIZWAN, AGHA, AND KHAN FALL IN QUICK SUCCESSION

Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, and Sajid Khan would all fall on Wendesday morning in quick succession. First Rizwan would leave the field after a delivery from Brydon Carse in the 93rd over nicked Rizwan’s bat, allowing Jamie Smith to take a brilliant leaping catch. Rizwan made 41 runs off 97 balls, hitting five fours in the process.

Khan, Agha and Rizwan dismissed as Pakistan pass 300

Agha was dismissed after Matthew Potts found the edge of his bat, leading to another great catch from Smith. He was dismissed after making 31 runs off 53 deliveries.

Khan followed shortly after, courtesy of a catch from Joe Root on a delivery from Jack Leach. He only scored two runs off nine deliveries.

FIRST DAY (TUESDAY)

Jack Leach was a standout, taking three wickets, two of which came in the first ten overs of Pakistan’s innings. After bowling Abdullah Shafique, in the eight, he dismissed Pakistan skipper Shan Masood in the tenth. Shafique only made seven runs, while Masood made an even more dismal three.

Kamran Ghulam’s incredible innings comes to an end

Saim Ayub would be the next to fall for Pakistan on a delivery from Matthew Potts. Ayub popped the ball up straight to short mid-off where England skipper Ben Stokes was waiting to take the catch.

Saud Shakeel fell in the 61st over after Jamie Smith took a sharp catch after Brydon Carse found the edge of Shakeel’s bat.

Kamran Ghulam would be dismissed in the 85th over, but not before the debutant made a century. He was sent off after scoring 118 runs off 224 deliveries. It would be Shoaib Bashir who would bring an end to Ghulam’s great innings after bowled him. Ghulam would be the only one to score a century for Pakistan in their first innings.

Pakistan would end day one on 259 for five after 90 overs.
