Pakistan training camp for Asia Cup begins in Lahore

Lahore: Pakistan cricket team began their training camp today for the One Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan and the 6-nation Asia Cup at at the National Cricket Academy.

The camp will run till August 16, and the team will depart for Sri Lanka on August 17.

Test opener Abdullah Shafique, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, fast bowler Mohammmad Wasim Jnr, all-rounder Salman Ali Agha and middle-order batter Saud Shakeel are attending the camp.

Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, and Tayyab Tahir will arrive in Lahore on August 16, a day before the team departure for Sri Lanka.

National team players participating in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will join the team in Hambantota.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also invited eight eight emerging players to the camp. Those called include – Abbas Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Arshad Iqbal, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Mohammad Umar, Sufyan Muqeem, Mehran Mumtaz and Qasim Akram.
