West Indies win second test against Pakistan, Warrican takes five

MULTAN: The second test of the two match series between Pakistan and West Indies came to a close on Monday, the third day of play. The men in green weren’t able to make the 178 runs they needed entering day 3, as Jomel Warrican dismantled Pakistan’s batting line-up. The Windies completed an incredible comeback and won a test in Pakistan for the first time in 35 years.

Pakistan lost two wickets before scoring a single run on day 3. Kevin Sinclair picked up his third wicket of the innings by dismissing Saud Shakeel on the third ball of the day. Shakeel attempted to play the delivery to the on-side, but the delivery from Sinclair found got a thick edge before it was caught at first slip by Kavem Hodge.

On the second ball of the next over, Jomel Warrican took his second wicket of the innings, as he bowled Kashif Ali on a delivery that went between bat and pad, taking a thin edge on its way to clipping the top of off stump.

Salman Agha was the next to fall in the 38th over. It was Warrican once again, sending off the Pakistani batter with an lbw, as his delivery hit Agha’s back pad. Pakistan used a review but it only served to reify the umpires decision.

Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed a few overs later. Warrican continued his dominance, bowling Rizwan with a delivery that snuck between his bat and pads before smashing into the stumps. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan both fell soon after. And Warrican was involved in both.

Noman smacked a delivery from Gudakesh Motie straight to Warrican. In the very next over, Warrican bowled Sajid, completing his five-fer, and completing the monumental comeback for The Windies.

On day one the West Indies found themselves down seven for only 37 runs in their first innings. Despite that, they have made an incredible comeback, and will leave Pakistan with a well-earned win.
