PCB announces central contract of the national cricket team

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the central contract for the national team players. A total of 25 players have been made part of the central contract.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been retained in Category A. However, Shaheen Shah Afridi has been demoted from Category A to Category B. Naseem Shah has been promoted to Category B. meanwhile, Shan Masood’s Category B inclusion has been subjected to his captaincy.

Abdullah Shafiq, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha have been included in Category C, along with Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub and Aamir Jamal. Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali have also been placed in Category C.
Among these, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf have been downgraded from Category B to Category C. Meanwhile, Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel have been promoted from Category D to Category C.
Amir Jamal, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Muhammad Huraira and Mir Hamza are included in Category D
Seven players have been included in the central contract for the first time, including Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Muhammad Abbas Afridi, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Usman Khan.
Pakistan win third test and series against England
On the other hand, former captain Sarfraz Ahmed has not been included in the central contract. Imam-ul-Haq, part of Category B in the previous central contract, is also deprived of the new contract. Iftikhar Ahmed was also not included in the central contract.
Shahnawaz Durrani, Zaman Khan, Ehsanullah, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim are also missing from the central contract.
