PCB announces new selection committee

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the members of the new selection committee, after the previous committee was dissolved earlier in the day.

The new committee will comprise seven members and there will be no chief selector. All members will have equal authority and responsibilities.

Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Yusuf, Asad Shafiq and Abdul Razzaq are included in the committee. Captain and coach will also be part of the selection committee, Chairman PCB said.

The selection committee will also include two coordinators and a data analyst. The selection committee consists of two core denominators and one data analyst.

The powers of the seven members included in the selection committee will be the same.

Additionally, Haris Rauf’s central contract has been restored, Mohsin Naqvi said. PCB’s treasury will be spent on cricket and players, PCB Chairman said.

Whether Shaheen Shah Afridi remains the captain or not will be decided after the camp, Chairman PCB said, adding that PCB is trying to make arrangements for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan.
