PCB Chairman announces big reward for players if they win T20 World Cup

LAHORE: In a grand gesture to motivate and inspire the national cricket squad, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has declared a hefty prize of $100,000 (approx. RS 27.75 million) for each player in the event of Pakistan clinching victory in the forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.

Mohsin Naqvi made this announcement today at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where he personally met with the players and officials. During his two-hour rendezvous with the team, Chairman PCB engaged in detailed discussions regarding game strategy and interacted closely with the players.

Addressing the national team, Naqvi expressed his optimism, stating, “It is hoped that you will hoist the Pakistani green crescent flag high this time around. Play with vigour, compete fiercely, and ensure a spirited display on the field.”

Naqvi said to the team, “Victory will be yours, and defeat will be mine. Pay no heed to external pressures, play solely for the pride of Pakistan.”

Addressing Shaheen Shah Afridi, he said “The nation has high expectations from you,” and urged him to deliver a stellar performance in the World Cup.

PCB chairman also rewarded special prizes to Mohammad Rizwan for achieving the 3000 runs in T20 cricket milestone and to Naseem Shah for reaching the landmark of 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. Both players were given specially made green shirts as tokens of appreciation.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also hosted lunch for the players.
