Sadia Iqbal claims top spot in ICC T20I bowler rankings

DUBAI: Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal claimed the top spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I bowler rankings on Tuesday.
Bowling rankings
Iqbal overtook England’s Sophie Ecclestone to claim the top spot, and now has a rating of 746. Ecclestone fell to fourth place, with a rating of 734. India’s Deepti Sharma rose one spot to take second, and now has a rating of 737. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland rose one spot as well, and is now third with a rating of 736. Notably, England’s Lauren Bell rose 13 places to take the sixth spot with a new rating of 717.
While Ecclestone lost the top spot in the shortest format, she remains the number one ranked bowler in ODIs, with a rating of 770. Australia’s Ash Gardner and Megan Schutt are ranked second and third respectively. Gardner has a rating of 724, while Schutt has a rating of 696. Sharma is ranked fourth with a rating of 672. The highest ranked Pakistani player is Nashra Sandhu at 13th, who has a rating of 589.
Batting rankings
West Indies’ Hayley Matthews rose two places and is now ranked the second-best batter in the T20 format, with a rating of 765. She took Tahlia McGrath’s spot, as the Aussie with a 757 rating fell to third. Smriti Mandhana fell one place to now occupy fourth with a rating of 753. Muneeba Ali, who has a rating of 508 and is now ranked 37th after moving up one place, is the highest ranked Pakistani player. Close behind is Nida Dar, who is ranked 39th with a rating of 494.

While Mandhana lost one place in the T20 format, she gained one in ODIs to now be ranked second with a rating of 727. She bumped England’s Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who has a rating of 725, down a place to third. Matthews is fourth with a rating of 687. The highest ranked Pakistani player is Sidra Amin, who fell two places to her new ranking of 21. She has a rating of 579.
All-rounder rankings
Nida Dar is ranked seventh among all-rounders with a rating of 276. Fatima Sana is the next highest rated Pakistani player on the list, as she is ranked 14th with a rating of 216. Matthews tops the rankings with a rating of 488. Below her is Australia’s Amelia Kerr, with a rating of 434. Sharma is third with a rating of 392 and Gardner is fourth with a rating of 372.
However, in ODIs, Gardner is ranked first, with a rating of 470. Matthews is right below with a rating of 438, and South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp rounds out the top three with a rating of 410. Sharma rose one spot, with a new rating of 353, to take fifth from Kerr. Nida Dar and Fatima Sana are ranked 16th and 17th respectively. The former dropped two places, and now has a rating of 192, while the latter has a rating of 188.
