Shah Khawar appointed acting PCB chief

LAHORE: Senior lawyer Shah Khawar is set to assume the role of acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his recent appointment.

Khawar, who had been serving as the election commissioner of the PCB, was appointed to the position after the resignation of Zaka Ashraf.

Ashraf stepped down from his post on January 19 in the aftermath of Pakistan’s significant setback against New Zealand in the recently concluded T20 series.

Separately, Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has been appointed as Chairman of the PCB Management Committee.

A notification regarding his appointment was issued on Tuesday
