Pak vs NZ

WEB DESK: In a high-stakes World Cup encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, national team fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf etched their names in Pakistan’s cricket history books.

Afridi and Rauf became the most expensive ones for Pakistan in World Cup history during the ongoing match against New Zealand.

Shaheen Shah Afridi sent down 90 runs in his allotted 10 overs, while Haris Rauf conceded 85 runs in his 10-over spell. Their combined efforts resulted in a total of 21 boundaries and four sixes, showcasing the challenging battle they faced on the pitch.

It’s worth mentioning that the previous record was held by Hasan Ali, who had given away 84 runs in nine overs during a match against India in 2019.

However, in this crucial match against New Zealand, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf faced a daunting challenge, with the Kiwis setting a formidable target.

New Zealand managed to achieve the highest score in the history of the World Cup, amassing a staggering 401 runs in their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan fans were disappointed with their team’s performance, with former pacer Shoaib Akhtar saying that “I don’t understand the Pak team management and the NZ captain. With half their bowling injured, why won’t you bat first on a wicket like this to do what they’re doing to you now?” Shoaib Akhtar said in a post on X.

As the match unfolds, Pakistan’s bowlers find themselves in a tough spot, striving to overcome the formidable challenge posed by New Zealand’s prolific batting lineup.

The cricketing world watches with bated breath as these talented bowlers aim to turn the tide in Pakistan’s favour.
