The T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start from June 2. It will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States (US).

Pakistan and England’s ongoing T20 series is also important in helping prepare for the upcoming world cup. However, due to their bilateral commitments, both teams will not engage in warm-up matches ahead of the world cup.

Meanwhile, injuries forced the Netherlands team to adjust and change their squad for the upcoming world cup 2024.

The change in squad comes right as the Dutch team was preparing for a tri-series involving Scotland and Ireland. Dutch players Kyle Klein and Saqib Zulfiqar were brought in as replacements for the injured players, Fred Klaassen and Daniel Doram.

Fred Klaassen was already dealing with a recurring stress fracture in his lower back. Meanwhile, Daniel Doram had to be replaced due to a broken hand.

Reserves Kyle Klein and Saqib Zulfiqar were then selected to replace the injured players.

Saqib Zulfiqar has prior experience in international cricket, having played six T20Is and 15 one day international (ODIs) matches. He also has taken nine wickets in international cricket.

However, Kyle Klein has limited international experience. The 22-year-old had so far only played in a single T20I match and two ODIs.

The Dutch team was placed in group D in the upcoming world cup, alongside Nepal, Bangladesh South Africa, and Sri Lanka. It will face off against Nepal in its very first match on June 4.

Meanwhile, Netherlands performances in the tri-series against Scotland and Ireland has so far been mixed. While they defeated Scotland, the Dutch team narrowly lost to the Ireland side.
