Usman Qadir announces retirement from Pakistan cricket

LAHORE: Usman Qadir announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket on Thursday in a post shared on X, previously known as Twitter.
The Pakistani leg-spinner said “today, I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket, and as I reflect on this incredible journey, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude.”
The 31 year old bowler last played for Pakistan in 2023 against Bangladesh at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

He has played a total of 25 T20Is for the national team in which he took 31 wickets, as well as a single One Day International (ODI).
“It has been an immense honor to represent my country and I’m thankful for the support of my coaches and teammates who have been with me every step of the way” said Qadir.
Qadir has seen a fair amount fo success in domestic cricket, playing a total of 107 T20s in which he took 112 wickets.
“As I step into this new chapter, I will be continuing my dads legacy, embracing both my love for cricket and the lessons he instilled in me. I carry with me the spirit of Pakistan cricket and the chersished memories we created together. Thank you for everything,” said Qadir.
