WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 promises thrilling showdowns ahead

VANCOUVER: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 is set to take place on Saturday at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

It marks the return of major wrestling events to the city after a 26-year hiatus.

This year’s installment promises to be particularly exciting feature two WaeGames matches alongside three championships bouts, drawing considerable attention from wrestling fans worldwide.

The WarGames format was originally created by Dusty Rhodes in 1987. It involves two rings enclosed by a steel cage, allowing for a unique and chaotic environment.

Each match begins with one competitor from each team, and additional  members enter at timed intervals, escalating the actions until all participants are involved.

Victory is achieved through pinfall or submission, making for a high-stakes atmosphere.

The men’s Wargames match will showcase a fierce rivalry within the Bloodline fraction. Roman Reigns, the current leader, reunites with former allies, Jimmy and Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and the returning CM Punk.

They will face off against Solo Sikoa amd his team: Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed.

The current match is particularly interesting as it highlights the internal conflicts and power struggles within the Bloodline, a storyline that has captivated audiences for months.   

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, the WarGames match will feature a blend of established stars and rising talent. Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodrigues, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae will compete against Rhea Ripley. Bianca Belair, Naomi, Iyo Sky and Bayley.

The contest is expected to showcase the intense rivalries between the wrestlers,  particularly between Ripley and Morgan, as well as ongoing tensions involving Jax and Naomi.

The card also includes a World Heavyweight Championship bout where Gunther will defend his title against Damian Priest.

Priest has been on a winning streak and is aiming to reclaim the championship after a previous loss.

The Intercontinental Championship will also be contested in a triple threat  match featuring Bron Breakker, Sheamus and Ludwug Kaiser each vying for a significant victory.

Similarly, LA Knight will defend the United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, who returns to the ring after a hiatus.

As one of WWE’s longest running event, Survivor Series has a ricH history of showcasing high-stakes drama and memorable moments.
