PTCL internet services restored after day-long disruption: PTA

ISLAMABAD: Internet services provided by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) have been fully restored across Pakistan following a nearly 24-hour disruption, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

In an announcement on X, the PTA confirmed, “Internet and broadband services are now available throughout Pakistan.”

However, the authority has yet to determine the cause of the outage. “The exact issue is currently under investigation by the PTA,” the statement added.

The disruption affected PTCL services in various cities across the country for the better part of the day. A PTCL spokesperson explained, “Our network experienced a data outage in several cities, impacting connectivity.”

According to The News, the spokesperson assured that “our teams are working to resolve and rectify the issue as swiftly as possible.”

NetBlocks, an organisation that monitors internet outages and digital governance, also verified the widespread nature of the disruption in its report on X.
