KEMU submits PC-1 for robotic surgery in Lahore

LAHORE: King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore has taken a monumental stride towards advancing healthcare through cutting-edge technology. The hospital administration has officially submitted a comprehensive proposal, known as the Planning Commission proforma (PC-1), to the Department of Health, seeking approval to introduce robotic surgeries.

According to authoritative sources within the hospital administration, the PC-1 aims to initiate robotic surgical procedures at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, marking a significant leap towards embracing state-of-the-art innovations to enhance patient care and surgical precision.

To spearhead this transformative endeavour, two highly skilled and experienced surgeons, Dr. Usman Ismail and Dr. Umar Warraich have been recruited.

Furthermore, in anticipation of the imminent launch of robotic surgeries, KEMU has appointed a dedicated Robotic Surgery Technician at Grade 17 scale.

The scope of robotic surgery at Mayo Hospital is poised to encompass various medical disciplines, including general surgery, gynecology, and urology.
