You can now share screen during WhatsApp video calls

UNITED STATES: Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of Meta, recently introduced a new feature for WhatsApp that brings screen-sharing functionality to video calls. This innovative feature works across different platforms, allowing users to share their real-time screen view seamlessly with one or more participants in the call.

“Whether sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or just helping grandparents with tech support – screen sharing lets you share a live view of your screen during the call,” reads WhatsApp’s press release read.

In order to use the feature individuals must have an updated version of WhatsApp installed on their devices. During in a video call, a fresh ‘Share’ icon will become visible at the screen’s base. Upon selecting it, users will receive a prompt to provide permission for screen sharing. Subsequently, the content on their screen will be transmitted to the other participant.

Separately, WhatsApp might soon introduce a voice chat function similar to Discord’s voice chats and Twitter Spaces. Beta testers have reported that certain users now have access to this feature, which enables participants within a group to initiate voice chats that other members can freely join and exit at their convenience.
