WEB DESK: YouTube is set to revolutionise the content creation landscape with a slew of new AI-powered tools designed to enhance the experience for creators.

According to media reports, these tools, slated to begin rolling out later this year, will enable content producers to utilise AI for various creative purposes, from designing unique backgrounds to generating content ideas and searching for audio tracks.

The announcement came during YouTube’s Made On YouTube event, where the platform unveiled its ambitious plans for AI integration.

As per the reports, Vice President of YouTube Toni Reid expressed that the AI-driven features would empower creators to push the boundaries of creative expression, catering to both the quick-scrolling Shorts (60-second videos) and long-form content.

It has been reported that leading the charge is “Dream Screen,” the first AI tool to make its debut. Dream Screen is scheduled to undergo testing in late 2023, allowing creators to effortlessly generate customised video and still-image backgrounds for YouTube Shorts. Following a select group of initial trials, the feature will be progressively made available to a wider audience in 2024.

Meanwhile, to ensure creators reach and engage their target audiences effectively, the platform is introducing AI tools designed to align content with audience trends and demographic preferences.

Starting next year, creators can turn to YouTube Studio for personalised AI-generated content ideas that complement their previous work. Additionally, an unnamed insights tool will assist in constructing video outlines upon request, with suggestions rooted in the real-time content preferences of a channel’s viewers.

For creators in need of audio enhancements, an AI-assisted search feature will be integrated into Creator Music. When crafting video descriptions, this feature will recommend suitable background music.

Furthermore, an automatic dubbing function known as Aloud aims to enhance video accessibility by employing AI for translated audio overlays. Both these features, along with YouTube Studio’s audience insight tool, are anticipated to become available in the coming year.

YouTube’s AI-driven initiatives were unveiled alongside “YouTube Create,” a new mobile app designed to enable on-the-go video editing and publishing for creators. Currently in beta testing among select Android users, this app promises greater convenience and flexibility.
