Samsung officially launches Gemini-powered Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6

WEB DESK: Samsung has officially launched its latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 series, showcasing significant advancements in mobile technology.

These new devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which Samsung touts as optimized for AI processing, delivering enhanced graphics and overall performance.

One of the standout features includes upgraded cooling systems, with the Galaxy Z Flip introducing a vapour chamber for the first time, promising improved cooling capabilities.

The new Galaxy Z series also boasts enhanced durability, featuring armour aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, making it the most robust Galaxy Z series to date.

Key specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 sports a 7.6-inch screen capable of up to 2,600 nits of brightness. It incorporates a 1.6x larger vapour chamber, ensuring prolonged gaming sessions without compromising performance.

Moreover, the device introduces a suite of AI-powered features designed to maximize productivity on its expansive screen. Samsung’s Note Assist on Samsung Notes facilitates seamless translation, summaries, and auto-formatting for meeting notes.

A new transcript feature enables voice recording transcription, translation, and summarization directly within the Notes app. Notably, the PDF overlay translation feature enables precise translation and overlay of text within PDFs, including text embedded in images and graphs.

Enhancing user interaction, Samsung introduces the Composer from Samsung Keyboard, which generates suggested text based on keywords for emails and social media platforms. The Composer further analyses previous posts to craft tailored content for social media.

Improvements in the S-Pen experience include a new sketch-to-image feature, enriching artistic creation by generating image options during sketching or drawing on photos within Gallery or Note screens.

Innovative features and enhancements

The Galaxy Z series integrates Google’s Gemini overlay and Circle to Search, enhancing usability across applications. The Galaxy AI features an Interpreter with a conversation mode, facilitating seamless translations on both main and cover screens for natural interactions and one-way translation. Live Translate extends real-time phone call translations beyond Samsung’s native app to popular third-party applications.

For photography enthusiasts, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 introduces an advanced editing experience through Photo Assist. Portrait Studio offers creative flexibility with options like 3D cartoons or watercolour-style portraits. Instant Slow-motion enables users to effortlessly slow down videos while maintaining smooth playback.
