Mardan woman allegedly sold for Rs4 million

MULTAN: A woman from Mardan in a video statement has claimed that she was sold for Rs4 million

According to Jang, the woman, Fazilat, belongs to the Rustam tehsil of Mardan. In a video that statement, Fazilat claimed that she was tricked into coming to Dargai, Swat, by her relatives and was then sold. She said that she is married and has two children and that she is being held against her will.

The police have arrested Fazilat’s father who has admitted that his daughter was sold. The woman’s husband has also said that two million were taken from him.

A police team has reached Dargai to bring the woman back. Action will be taken after recording the statement of the victim. INP
