Why did Maryam Nawaz give Uzma Kardar a shove?

LAHORE: A video of newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz pushing and shoving Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Uzma Kardar during a Punjab Assembly session has gone viral on social media, which has garnered criticism from her from the general public.

In the video, Maryam Nawaz can be seen entering the assembly before she was confronted by Kardar, who was having something with her hands probably being greasy.

As Kardar approached Maryam Nawaz to hug her, the latter barely hugged her before pushing her back and moving ahead to the podium to take her seat.

In the video, Kardar could be seen murmuring a few words for the obvious affront from her leader, who just fixed her neatly adorned dupatta and stepped forward with the least consideration to the call of her fellow lawmaker, who sat on her seat with a grimaced face.

Kardar addressed the incident hours later, explaining that Maryam pushed her hand away due to it being “oily.”
