At least six killed, in Israeli airstrike on Iranian consulate in Damascus

WEB DESK: Israeli fighter jets have demolished the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, reportedly including a high-ranking commander from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Eyewitnesses at the Mezzeh district of the Syrian capital observed smoke billowing from the remains of a leveled building, with emergency vehicles stationed nearby. Both the Syrian and Iranian foreign ministers were observed present at the site.
Iranian state media reported that Mohammad Reza Zahedi, identified as a senior commander of the IRGC, was among those who lost their lives.

Syria’s foreign minister, Faisal Mekdad, condemned the attack, asserting that it would not impact the relationship between the two allied nations.
