TEHRAN: Tensions in the Middle East have escalated as Iran issued a direct threat to target Israel’s energy and gas infrastructure in response to any military actions by Israel, international media reported on Friday.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that if Israel attacks, Iran will retaliate by striking Israeli energy sources, including its refineries and gas fields. This warning comes amid heightened concerns of a potential conflict between the two nations.
Meanwhile, Iran’s diplomatic efforts continue, as Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Beirut. The visit is part of Iran’s regional engagement, with Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Ismail Baqaei confirming that the Iranian delegation, led by Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, has delivered a ten-ton aid package to Lebanon, containing essential food, beverages, and medicines.
On the other side of the conflict, Israel has claimed that it successfully intercepted and destroyed 20 missiles fired from Lebanon, with some missiles landing in open fields, causing no reported casualties. The missile attacks have been linked to the ongoing tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, adding fuel to an already volatile situation.

Meanwhile, US President has urged Israel to avoid any strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, cautioning that such actions would not receive American support. The President also stated that he will soon engage in talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In response to Iran’s latest threats, the US is reportedly considering new sanctions, aimed at curbing Iran’s aggressive stance.
