Magnitude 6 earthquake strikes Russia’s Kuril Islands region
MOSCOW: A magnitude 6 earthquake struck the east of the Kuril Islands region of Russia on Saturday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), EMSC said.
Earthquake in Kamchatka
A strong offshore earthquake measuring 6.4 had also struck off the eastern coast of the Kamchatka region on July 22.
Another jolt of 7.4 magnitude was also felt in the same month that led to an issuance of the tsunami warning for many countries falling in the Pacific region.
The EMSC had later lifted this warning soon after evaluations showed that there were no significant waves activity. However, had there any effects of the tsunami, countries like Russia, Japan, and even the shores of the United States and South America would have been impacted.

The EMSC reported that the quake was at a depth of 28 kilometres.
Earthquakes in Pakistan
Similarly, quake Jolts have also been felt across various regions in Pakistan, with Swat, Rawalpindi and the capital Islamabad rocked by 4.7 and 5.1 last week.
Earthquake tremors were also felt on July 1st in Lahore and surrounding areas including Kamoke and Muridke, according to reports later in the day.

Reports said, the jolts were felt in Sheikhupura and surrounding areas too. Toba Tek Singh and surrounding areas also reported earthquake tremors.
6.0 magnitude earthquake hits Pakistan and other countries
The depth of earthquake was recorded at 14 km, seismological center said. The epicenter of the earthquake was 25 km southwest of Lahore. However, all the reports showed no damages to life or property.
