ISLAMABAD: Both Pakistan and India have confirmed US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a complete and immediate ceasefire between the two countries, but a US journalist has now revealed the reason behind it.
Nick Robertson, a journalist affiliated with the American news outlet CNN, narrated how India was forced to back down and agree to a ceasefire in the face of Pakistan’s actions.
Robertson said that from the outset of the hostilities, the international community had been making continuous efforts to broker a ceasefire, but India had remained unwilling.
He further said that in response to Indian aggression, Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, during which it carried out a barrage of strikes on India.
Pakistan not only crippled India’s defence systems but also launched a flurry of missile attacks, which compelled India to come to the negotiating table.
World leaders welcome Pakistan-India ceasefire
Following India’s appeal, the US Secretary of State reached out to Saudi and Turkish officials, and the matter was eventually resolved through diplomatic means, leading to the ceasefire.
