Saudi Arabia to observe first Roza on Monday

Saudi Arabia, along with most other Gulf states, will commence the fasting month of Ramadan on Monday, March 11.

The crescent moon for Ramazan was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening.

Saudi Arabia typically is the first country to sight the moon for Islamic months. Pakistan and other Asian countries usually begin the holy month a day later.

Heavy rains over the weekend have cooled down temperatures in the UAE. This year, fasting is anticipated to be more pleasant, as the weather in the UAE during March-April is typically warm to hot.
