US confirms death of employee of US embassy in Jerusalem

WASHINGTON: The United States on Monday confirmed the death of a direct hire employee of the US embassy in Jerusalem, adding that the incident is under investigation but that there were no indications of foul play in the death of the American citizen.

State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, declined to provide further details due to privacy considerations.

“We can confirm the death of an American employee of the US Embassy in Jerusalem. It is not the US Ambassador. Foul play is not suspected. We have no further details to share,” the spokesperson said.
