Violence in Beirut escalates, Iran condemns Israel attacks


As Israel ramped up its brutal assault on Lebanon, the Iranian embassy in Beirut denounced the attacks on Saturday.

BEIRUT: As Israel ramped up its brutal assault on Lebanon, which has led to over a hundred people seriously injured, the Iranian embassy in Beirut denounced the attacks on Saturday.

The embassy described the Israeli bombardment as a “bloody massacre” and that Israel was specifically targeting heavily populated residential areas. This included regions near the Iranian diplomatic mission.

The Iranian diplomatic mission accused Israel of using deceptive justification to mask what it called as “barbarian crimes”. The condemnation follows a series of airstrikes that left over six people dead in Beirut.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that six people lost their lives, with more than 90 injured in the bombardment that primarily struck the Dahiya district of Beirut.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Supreme Leader convened a emergency session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Meanwhile, despite ongoing strikes, Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, did not issue any statement.

Even former US president Donald Trump weighed in on the situation. He asserted the military conflicts in the Middle East resulted solely in “death and hatred”.

The reality TV mogul pointed out that during his presidency, the US was not engaged in “expensive, stupid wars”.
