Oppo Find X9 Pro’s camera is great, but its price in Pakistan might shock you

ISLAMABAD: Oppo has unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Find X9 Pro, which is set to make its global debut on October 28, 2025, alongside the Find X9. While the international launch is still over a week away, anticipation is already building in Pakistan as market watchers begin speculating about its possible price and arrival in the country.

Although Oppo has not yet confirmed whether the Find X9 series will launch in Pakistan at the same time as its global release, rumours suggest the company is considering bringing it to the local market soon. If it does, early estimates indicate that the Oppo Find X9 could start around Rs200,000, including PTA approval charges, while the Find X9 Pro might be priced as high as Rs252,000.

These figures have sparked mixed reactions among tech enthusiasts. While some see the phone’s premium design and advanced features as justification for the high price, others believe it might struggle in Pakistan’s competitive smartphone market.

With several affordable and feature-rich options available from brands like Redmi, Vivo, and Samsung, many buyers are reluctant to spend such a large sum on an Oppo device. Consumers in Pakistan generally prefer investing in flagship models from brands such as Apple, Samsung, or OnePlus, making Oppo’s challenge even steeper.

Oppo faces a tough comeback in Pakistan

Adding to that, Oppo has been relatively quiet in the market for some time. Its recent comeback began with the A6 Pro launch, priced around Rs75,000, which received a modest response. During Oppo’s absence, brands like Redmi and Vivo gained significant ground, attracting many former Oppo users with newer processors, slimmer bezels, and better value for money. Oppo’s older models, which often featured outdated chips and bulkier designs, struggled to keep up with the pace of innovation.

Still, the Find X9 Pro has generated buzz, particularly for its camera capabilities. Both the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro feature the latest Hasselblad Master Camera System powered by Oppo’s own LUMO Image Engine. The setup includes a 200MP Hasselblad telephoto lens, co-developed with Hasselblad for precise sensor calibration and optical performance, promising exceptional detail in every shot.

Next-level camera system and long battery life

Oppo has also equipped the Find X9 series with massive 7,000mAh batteries, a notable upgrade aimed at providing “extraordinary battery life.” The camera configuration on the Find X9 Pro includes a 50MP main camera with optical stabilisation, a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 200MP telephoto sensor offering 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP front camera with autofocus for clear selfies.

Oppo’s Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, said the company aims to “push the boundaries of what’s possible in mobile imaging,” highlighting the collaboration with Hasselblad as a “monumental leap forward” in smartphone photography.

For now, the Find X9 Pro looks like a powerful contender in the premium segment, boasting an impressive camera setup and a top-tier chipset. However, whether it will win over Pakistani consumers depends largely on its official pricing and launch timing, which are expected to be confirmed by the end of October or early November.

Mixed reactions to Oppo’s expected high price

When asked whether they would buy an Oppo smartphone priced above Rs200,000, mobile phone enthusiasts shared mixed opinions. Some said they would not consider it, while others felt it would depend on the features of the Pakistani model.

Naeem Ahmed, a tech lover who frequently upgrades his phone whenever something exciting and worthwhile hits the market, said such a price would be hard to justify. “Rs200,000 or above is a big amount. I wouldn’t personally spend that much on an Oppo or Vivo phone. Even if it’s a flagship, I’d rather go for a Samsung midrange model or a good Redmi phone under Rs140,000,” he said.

Another long-time Oppo user, Usman Tareen, who has been using Oppo phones since 2015, shared a similar view. “Anything priced above Rs100,000 feels too expensive. Oppo phones in Pakistan are usually expected to be reasonably priced. If I had a budget of Rs200,000 or more, I’d go for a Samsung, or maybe even buy a used iPhone from the second-hand market,” he said.
