Karachi Traffic Police announces heavy fines for violations

KARACHI: In a dedicated move to bolster road safety and instill a sense of responsibility among citizens regarding traffic regulations, the Karachi Traffic Police has decided to heighten penalties for violations.

Announced via official social media channels, these revised fines will be applicable to all vehicles starting on Wednesday, aiming to curb reckless behaviour on the roads.

Motorcyclists violating speed limits will now face fines of Rs700, while car and jeep drivers will be slapped with Rs1,000 fine.

Additionally, driving on the wrong side of the road will incur fines of Rs2,000 for motorcyclists and Rs3,000 for car owners.

These measures underline the city’s commitment to fostering a safer driving culture and ensuring the well-being of all road users.

Compliance with traffic rules is not just a legal obligation but a shared responsibility towards a secure and orderly urban environment.
