Nawabshah: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the youngest scion of the Bhutto family, has ventured into parliamentary politics by submitting her nomination papers for the upcoming by-election in the NA-207 Nawabshah constituency.

The decision to contest the by-election comes as the seat became vacant following Asif Ali Zardari’s elevation to the presidency, making him the 14th President of Pakistan.

Aseefa’s foray into electoral politics marks a significant moment as she formally enters the political arena, supported by a considerable number of followers and party members who gathered to extend their welcome.

Who is Aseefa Bhutto Zardari?

Born on February 3, 1993, in London, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari inherits a legacy deeply entrenched in Pakistani politics. Known for her advocacy in public health, Aseefa emerged as a rising political figure within the Bhutto family.

Her early years were notably characterized by her pivotal role as the first child in Pakistan to receive the polio vaccine, emblematic of her family’s commitment to healthcare initiatives.

Educationally, Aseefa holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and sociology from Oxford Brookes University, alongside a master’s degree in global health and development from University College London.

Aseefa’s dedication to public service was further underscored when she was appointed as Pakistan’s goodwill ambassador for polio eradication in 2012. Her relentless efforts in combating the disease earned her widespread recognition and positioned her as a prominent figure in the nation’s healthcare landscape.
